This colonial mansion is said to be haunted by members of the Calvert family, including one eccentric one who didn’t like her parlor being used. There’s also reportedly the ghost of a girl in white, an old woman and a horseman.


Mount Airy Plantation, located within Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is a colonial-era mansion with a rich history and reputed paranormal activity. Originally built as a hunting lodge by Charles Calvert, the Third Lord Baltimore, around 1660, the estate has been associated with the Calvert family for centuries.

Visitors and staff have reported various ghostly encounters at Mount Airy. The London Society for Psychical Research visited the home in the 1930s and claimed to have detected the ghost of Elizabeth Bresco Calvert haunting the mansion.
