Unsettled Spirits JJ and BIRGEET near Lake Linganore in Frederick Maryland 2009
“JJ” was first contacted on the bridge of Linganore Rd. over Linganore Creek, downstream of Linganore Lake. JJ conversed for hours in Seance via Ouija and Divining Rods. He claimed to have been killed in an automobile accident near the bridge many years prior. In 2009 the area was more deserted than it is presently; at the time of JJ’s death, it was “like another world” according to seance notes of communication with JJ.
BIRGEET came in after JJ tired. Our team presumed the name was “Bridgette” but being mangled in communication. BIRGEET was substantially weaker than JJ. BIRGEET was communicated with again several times during visits to Black Rock Mill. In both cases, a bridge over briskly flowing creek water was involved.

Here’s the revised version of the blog post, integrating the team of investigators and their encounter with the spirits of JJ and Birgeet:
Unsettled Spirits: JJ and Birgeet Near Lake Linganore, Frederick, Maryland (2009)
In 2009, a team of investigators and spiritual sensitives from EastGhostCom ventured to Linganore Road near the picturesque Lake Linganore in Frederick, Maryland. Their mission? To uncover the truth behind unsettling paranormal reports tied to the restless spirits known as JJ and Birgeet.
The investigation began with initial communication attempts at the site. Through a combination of EVP recordings, dowsing rods, and direct spiritual impressions from the sensitives, the team made contact with two distinct presences who identified themselves as JJ and Birgeet. The spirits seemed tied to the area, their energies lingering near the lake and the surrounding roads.
Linganore’s Haunted Legacy
Lake Linganore and its environs have long been shrouded in mystery. The lake’s tranquil surface conceals a chilling reputation: a supposed history of tragic drownings and eerie encounters. Witnesses have reported strange lights, disembodied voices, and inexplicable cold spots along the lake’s edge. These stories have earned it a reputation as one of Frederick County’s most haunted locations.
The spirits of JJ and Birgeet were no exception to the area’s lore. Through the investigation, the EastGhostCom team uncovered fragments of their story, which hinted at a deep connection to the land. Though details were sparse, the spirits’ energies reflected both sorrow and longing, suggesting unfinished business or a tragic past.
Communicating Across the Veil
The team of investigators employed various tools to facilitate communication with JJ and Birgeet. Spiritual sensitives reported an overwhelming sensation of water, a drowning or submersion, which seemed to tie the spirits’ origins to the lake. EVP sessions yielded faint whispers, with phrases like “still here” and “Ling-anore,” adding credibility to the spirits’ claims of attachment to the area.
A breakthrough came when one sensitive described a vision of a house along Linganore Road where a violent event may have transpired. Further digging into local history revealed incidents of accidents and untimely deaths along the lake’s roadways, which could explain the spiritual activity.
Natural Energy Amplifiers
The team also noted that the natural environment around Lake Linganore may have played a role in amplifying the activity. Running water is often theorized to act as a conduit for spiritual energy, and the underground streams intersecting the area could be an unseen force fueling the hauntings. Combined with the region’s rich historical tapestry, the investigators speculated that these natural and historical factors created a perfect storm for paranormal phenomena.
The Spirits’ Message
Despite the intense experiences during their investigation, the EastGhostCom team left Linganore Road with more questions than answers. JJ and Birgeet’s presences remain enigmatic, their purpose unclear. Were they seeking closure? Offering a warning? Or simply trapped in a loop of time, tethered to the lake and its mysteries?
