Pocomoke Forest and Furnace Town by Beverly Litsinger

In October 2003, a group of investigators, including Beverly Litsinger, conducted a paranormal investigation at Furnace Town, located within Maryland’s Pocomoke Forest. Their primary objective was to encounter the spirit of Sampson Hat, a figure believed to haunt the area. Although they did not witness Sampson, the team reported several unusual occurrences.
While inside the Blacksmith shop, some members, including Laura Lee, heard unexplained bell-like sounds, despite the absence of any bells in the vicinity. The team recorded significant electromagnetic field (EMF) readings in various buildings, notably at the furnace, where the EMF detector registered high levels. Additionally, an infrared thermometer indicated temperatures as low as -10°F at the furnace site.
The investigation extended to a nearby cemetery, previously the site of the Nazarene Church before its relocation to Furnace Town. Here, the team obtained strong EMF readings. As they ventured into the Pocomoke Forest, they continued to detect elevated EMF levels and reported a persistent sensation of being watched. These findings suggest the presence of unexplained phenomena in Furnace Town and its surrounding areas, warranting further exploration.

A group of investigators took an investigation to the Eastern Shore. We went to Furnace
Town in hopes of seeing Sampson Hat, the spirit that haunts the town. We did not see
Sampson but we did have some strange experiences.

A group of us went into the Blacksmith shop. While we were there, Laura Lee and some
others heard the sound of bells ringing. There were no bells in the shop and we could not
find where the sound was coming from.

We got some excellent readings on the EMF detector in some of the buildings. We got
very high readings on the EMF detector at the furnace. We got -10 degree temperature
readings at the furnace.

We stopped at the cemetery where the Nazarene Church used to be located before it was
moved to Furnacetown. We got excellent EMF readings at the cemetery. We walked into
the Pocomoke Forest and got strong readings there. We got the feeling that we were
being watched.

Michelle Gibson’s research evidences a cyclical nature of societies then calamities, over a few hundred-years period, going back at least several cycles and just as likely many, many more. This dovetails with Anatoly Fomenko’s work demonstrating an invented thousand-year ‘Dark Ages’ in the Jesuitical Scaligerian chronology. Those seeking to understand past civilizations perhaps including the contemporaries of Furnace Town and even the Pyramids at Giza and elsewhere should seek further.
